The Brilliant Leaderboard is a global competition that ranks players by one thing only: how many Brilliant moves their games contain. Every time our Game Analysis finds a Brilliant — the rare !! badge — in one of your games, it adds to your total and pushes you up the board.
How do you get on the leaderboard?
Getting ranked takes just two steps:
- Sign in to your ChessRank account. Brilliants are saved to your profile, so an account is required for them to count.
- Run a Game Analysis on your games. Whenever the review finds a Brilliant move, it is recorded automatically — no extra step, no button to press.
Open the Brilliant Leaderboard from the menu any time to see your rank and your total.
When does a Brilliant get counted?
A Brilliant is counted the moment your Game Analysis awards the !! badge to one of your moves. It works for every game you review — games imported from chess.com or lichess.org, a PGN you paste in, and even games you play against our chess bots.
Reviewing the same game twice will not double-count it: each Brilliant is tied to the exact position it happened in, so your total only ever reflects genuinely different brilliancies. Want to know exactly what earns the badge? Read what a Brilliant move is.
See any player's best moves
The leaderboard is not just a list of names. Click any player and a mini board replays their last 10 Brilliant moments — the moves right before and after each brilliancy — so you can watch exactly how the best players find their !! moves and learn from them.

- Analyze more of your games. Every review is a fresh chance to uncover a Brilliant you did not know you played.
- Play actively. Brilliants reward sound sacrifices and sharp tactics — a Brilliant is never just the only move or a simple even trade.
